We are excited to announce the launch of The Downtown Vendor Video Project, a small business contest hosted entirely on
social media, giving away a free polished commercial production to one lucky small
business. Participants consisting of eight downtown St. Catharines businesses, were challenged with
creating an unedited, unscripted, 1-minute video for Facebook that the general
public could vote on. The videos will be hosted on our Facebook page, where the contest winner will be selected through a voting system. The
business whose video garners the most “likes” at the end of the contest will be
the winner of a polished, broadcast-ready commercial, worth over $4000. That
equals a very valuable marketing tool, for a small business that otherwise
would not have been able to access it on their own.
"The positive
impact of a polished commercial can be dramatic," says Lianne Dewberry,
coordinator of Sales and Marketing for Fourgrounds, "But few small
businesses can afford the cost of that exposure, especially in the current
economic climate. With this contest, we want to give a deserving small business
this valuable marketing tool on our dime”.
The contest, sponsored by The St. Catharines Downtown Association and
The Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, will run through the first two weeks
of December, with four videos being featured each week, and a winner selected
on December 17.
For your chance to take
part in the contest and win one of two $400
prize packs, visit Fourgrounds Media’s facebook page at www.facebook.com/fourgrounds and
vote for your favourite downtown small business. Contest closes at 11:59 P.M.
on December 16, 2012.
